About Branchability

Creating Inclusive Programs & Workplaces

Branchability exists to create environments where individuals of all abilities can participate, grow, and feel a true sense of belonging. Through structured programs and practical education, the focus is on building spaces where inclusion is considered from the start, not added later.

Meet Amanda

Branchability is led by Amanda, who works directly with you from beginning to finish, providing clear and consistent communication throughout.

Her approach is shaped by both professional and lived experience. Through her childhood friendship with Megan, who has a disability, inclusion was always part of Amanda’s life. From a young age, she was drawn to creating opportunities for others and became aware of the gaps in who was included and who was left out—an experience that led her into the field of adapted recreation. Today, that same relationship continues, with Megan now participating in Amanda’s adaptive recreation programs.

That same perspective carries into her work today. Amanda co-founded a Special Olympics basketball team in Strathcona County, supporting athletes as they built confidence, developed their skills, and progressed to national-level competition.

Families can expect to feel comfortable, safe, and genuinely cared for from the very beginning, with trust forming the foundation of every experience.

The Branchability Story

Branchability was created to address a gap that many families and organizations continue to face. Too often, individuals with diverse abilities are expected to adapt to environments that were never designed with them in mind, leading to experiences that feel limiting rather than supportive.

While some programs attempt to accommodate, they rarely address the core issue. The environment itself is not built for different needs, which creates barriers before participation even begins. Over time, this leads to frustration, inconsistency, and a lack of trust in available options.

Branchability takes a different approach by intentionally designing every program and workshop from the very beginning. The focus is not only on participation, but on creating structured environments where individuals can build skills, gain confidence, and feel genuinely supported.

This impact is often seen in small but meaningful moments—when someone realizes they are capable of something they didn’t think they could do, or begins to feel confident in ways they haven’t experienced before. These moments reflect what is possible when environments are designed to support growth from the start.

Alongside this, organizations are given practical tools to move beyond theory and apply inclusion in real, meaningful ways.

Supporting Growth Through Programs & Education

Inclusive Recreation Programs

Programs are designed with clear structure and consistent support, helping participants build skills, gain confidence, and form meaningful connections in an environment created for their needs. Progress is measured through growth over time, including increased independence, confidence, and achievement of personal goals.

Workshops
& Education

Workshops focus on practical, real-world application, giving organizations the tools and confidence to support individuals effectively and build more inclusive workplaces. These sessions often lead to meaningful moments of connection, where participants feel more aware, confident, and equipped to take action.

Our Approach

Inclusion is often treated as something that can be added later, whether through policy changes, one-time adjustments, or general awareness. While these efforts may be well intentioned, they rarely create meaningful or lasting change on their own.

Branchability approaches inclusion differently by building it into the foundation of every program and workshop. Structure, communication, and facilitation are all designed to create environments that feel safe, consistent, and genuinely supportive, while still encouraging growth and independence.

This approach is grounded in real-world experience, shaped by years of working directly with individuals, families, and organizations. It reflects an understanding of both the challenges people face and the practical solutions that actually make a difference.

Our Values

Accessibility & Inclusion

Access is treated as foundational, not optional. Programs and workshops are intentionally designed to reduce barriers so individuals can participate fully and meaningfully from the start.

Respect & Dignity

Every individual is seen as capable, with their own goals, strengths, and voice guiding their experience. Support is adapted to the person rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.

Empowerment

Each program is designed to build confidence, independence, and long-term growth. The focus is on helping individuals develop skills and experience progress over time.

Safety & Trust

Clear expectations, consistent communication, and strong leadership create environments where participants and families feel secure, supported, and confident in the experience.
